Danny Toro
Danny, is a Venezuelan activist mainly focused on advocacy and protection of the LGBTIQ+ community in the country. He is the director of the LGBTQI+ initiative called País Narrado, and the Venezuelan Observatory of LGBTIQ+ violence. He works on developing social projects for the resilience of people in extreme poverty, social organizing for the reduction of citizens’ insecurity rates, projects that document violations of LGBTIQ+ rights in the country, the promotion of democracy through training of young people, and projects with indigenous communities in border areas of Venezuela.
In 2022 he participated in the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles, USA, and the same year, he spoke in the U.S. Congress in Washington D.C. as a representative of Venezuela at the Youth and Democracy Summit.It is through his participation in development aid actions involving the indigenous communities of Venezuela that Danny has gained an interest in climate justice and the importance of reclaiming and preserving the Venezuelan ecosystems and natural resources to ensure the prosperity of future generations.
